My favorite woodworking tools are now made by WEN. They’re cheap and high-quality, and they’re easy to use. This newer version of the Spiral Head is amazing. As promised, the cuts are very smooth, precise, and fast. Also, the amount of noise the machine makes is much less than other jointers and planers I’ve used. The dust collector seems to work well at removing dust and chips from the bottom of the machine, and the amount of chips thrown from the top of the machine seem to be very low. Still, it’s a good idea to wear hearing and eye protection.
One of the best things about this type of jointer is that the blades can be quickly changed. Two sharp edges are on each blade. The hex tool that came with the tool can be used to adjust the blade. It’s a good thing that I can only change the blades that aren’t cutting as well as the ones that are close to the fence.
Great for the woodworker who works on the weekends or is a part-time artist. Definitely worth it!
