It’s easy to use and saves your wrist some work, as you’d expect. This is what I was hoping for, because I work on electronics all the time and remove and put in a lot of screws every day. So, in a sense, the mission is done. I also like that it can charge with type C.
When I’m fixing laptops, for example, I often run into screws that need some manual power to get started, even if they don’t need much force. Even this upgraded version could use more torque, I think. That said, though, it might make my next complaint even worse.
The bits aren’t very strong, and they break easily when they’re used a lot. Even with the power of this screwdriver, it looks like the bits are weak. It’s most noticeable with the smaller parts. If the screws are getting tight, I usually gently tighten them down the last quarter turn or so by hand, which is kind of against the point of this thing..
A lot of the things that come with this package are bad, but the tubes that hold the bits are the worst. Because the caps fall off so easily, they’re just flimsy clear plastic tubes with plastic caps on both ends. When I put the three tubes and the screwdriver itself in my laptop bag, it always turns into a mess because they come apart so quickly. The “case” that comes with the set is made of two pieces of plastic that stick together with some of the weakest magnets possible, so it comes apart even more often than the tubes. It only holds the driver and one tube of bits, so it’s not worth much to me. As well, it’s very big for what it is and how little space it takes up. Bits would be easier to find if they were kept in a simple, single tray that latches shut instead of looking around and up and down the length of three tubes that talk apart.
Another thing that bothers me is that there isn’t an OFF or safety switch, and the buttons on the driver aren’t recessed or labeled for ease of use. I’m always afraid that it will get stuck in my laptop bag and run all the time when I don’t want it to.
My last complaint is more subjective and minor, but I think it’s worth mentioning because it makes me sick so often. The scent. I’m used to China-made goods having some smells, but this smell is so bad that I’m worried about the materials it’s made of being dangerous.
