For the price, this will make cutting small metal things safer and easier. It will also make it easier. The machine is made well and looks and feels strong. The base is made of cast iron and the top is made of cast aluminum. A little common sense will help you get it done, even though the instructions are bad. 3 different allen wrenches (cheap ones come with the set) and at least 3 different sizes of hex nuts and bolts are needed to make adjustments and put the set together (wrenches not included). This is why I used a magnet to attach the allen wrenches. You will need them to move the fence, adjust alignment, and remove the shield for wheel changes, so I did this. I thought the washers that go on the bolts that hold the router support arms were too small, so I had to grind off both sides of better washers to fit in the slotted holes. Some different bolts come with the grinder, and my DeWalt grinder fit right in with them. Hookey: The bolts through which they go are also a little bendy. They even came loose while I was cutting something. There were no lock nuts I could find tonight, so I’ll have to add some. It took a long time to get the thing set up (about 45 minutes). Experimenting helped us figure out the best way to make the changes. There are no instructions for that. It did cut well after that, though. This is a good idea because it will move around if you don’t. A single C clamp that fit in the front depression was enough for me. I might later put it on a piece of plywood. The base has two holes for that. But the fence isn’t very good. You can only cut a certain width of material if the fence is in the right-hand slot. I bought this model instead of a cheaper one because it has two fence slots. I had read about this in other reviews. You can move the fence to the left slot, and I think the grinder won’t hit the fence then. I haven’t tried that yet. But the left-hand slot doesn’t hold the nuts that keep the fence in place, so it will be a little hard to move. There is also less space on the left. Having two grinders is almost a must because it’s so hard to align that you won’t want to take the first one out very often. Despite its name, this tool isn’t a chop saw. It can cut small things, but it doesn’t have a lot of power and costs about $25 to ship.
