As a side note, Home Depot’s Rigid Brand 1-7/8″ by 20′ hose can be used to replace the 7′ hose when it is needed.
I use this with a Dewalt DWV9000 universal adapter
Keep an eye out for the word “universal,” because it can fool you.
The connector can be used with almost any Dewalt tool, but it doesn’t work with the Vacuum hose because it is too big.
I used a piece of car radiator hose to make the connection, and it works well every time.
